In a departure from his usual guarded release of details about upcoming film details, Woody Allen disclosed the title, storyline and cast for his next film, Midnight in Paris, a romantic comedy which begins shooting this summer, in, not surprisingly, Paris.
Newly on board the film is Michael Sheen (Twilight: New Moon, Frost/Nixon), Kathy Bates (The Blind Side), and in a cameo role, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, France's First Lady. They join Owen Wilson (Night at the Museum), Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose, Public Enemies), Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes), and more. The tale focuses on a family traveling to France for business purposes, including a young engaged couple who have their lives transformed during the journey as they are faced with the illusion that a different life would be better than their own.
Allen's next film, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, scheduled to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival next month and open in September, stars Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Naomi Watts (King Kong, 21 Grams), Josh Brolin (W, Milk), and Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire). - Relaxnews
