It's inevitable that at some point you will find yourself staring at a bottle of wine without a corkscrew in site. On June 14, wine guru Jancis Robinson tweeted a video with an unlikely alternative -- a shoe.
Here are five ways to open a (corked) wine bottle that might surprise you:
- The shoe method on video hosting site Wimp.com (in French)
- Similar to the shoe method -- but with the support of a tree
- Using a phonebook
- With the help of a nail, screwdriver and hammer:
- Russian technique with a Sharpie marker

Next step, pour and enjoy! To do tomorrow: buy a corkscrew. (Relaxnews)
