Returning for the fifth consecutive year to the Birmingham NEC, from October 8 to 10, The Grand Designs Live trade show is bringing to life real home improvement projects, cutting-edge design, eco-friendly innovation, and interior design, through a series of Live interactive features, across a three day event.
This year's event will feature the 'House of the future' exhibition, which will contain the latest in innovative and cutting-edge home appliances.
Electrolux Eco Cleaner
The Electrolux Eco Cleaner is a portable, compact dishwasher which uses ultrasonic waves to ionize food particles on the dishes, converting the food/grease to reusable compost for plants. Thereby waste will no longer be waste, but healthy meals for the greens.

External Refrigerator
In China, because of their cold conditions, food is kept outside the window to preserve it, plus it frees up the kitchen space. This Chinese practice inspired Frenchman Nicolas Hubert to design the External Refrigerator, a fridge that hangs on the external wall of your home. The win-win situation here is that during winters the low temperatures help in conserving energy and keeping the fridge-items cold. And during summer, solar energy is harnessed via the solar panels, to power the fridge.

The oven is controlled via a touch-anywhere LED display, which removes the need for traditional control knobs; the oven also allows users to program cooking instructions for their favorite recipes

Electrolux Renew
“Renew” is a smart steamer that refreshes and cleans clothes. With two steam blades, Renew “blasts” garments clean. An infrared scanner and radio frequency identification (RFID) gather information about a garment from specifically designed clothing tags. Renew is safe to use and disables the steamer if an unidentified object is detected, such as a hand.
