The DC Council has approved the new legislation on allowing marijuana for medical use. Washington would be following the other 14 states where medical marijuana is already legal.
Patients suffering from chronic illnesses like AIDS, cancer and multiple sclerosis would be allowed to receive two ounces of marijuana a month with a doctor’s recommendation.
The measure still has to go through Congress and the White House.
