American expat and former Chez Panisse pastry chef David Lebovitz has released his Paris Pastry guide as an ebook.
The guide to the city's best pastry shops was first released as an iPhone app last year and has a database of 300 of the best pastry, chocolate, candy and hot chocolate shops as judged by Lebovitz, a popular Paris blogger whose site has snagged multiple ‘best of' awards.
The ebook version, launched this week, includes an index of shops by location and category, and a glossary of common French food and baking terms. Among Lebovitz's favorites are Ladurée, La Maison du Chocolat, and L'Atelier du Chocolat, all in the sixth district.
The ebook version is available on the iPad, Sony eReader, Kobo, and Nook. Both the iPhone app and the ebook are priced at $4.99.
Other chocolate and pastry-spotting apps include Chocomap, which works around the world, Macaronathon, which maps out the best macaron purveyors in New York as well as the New York Cupcake Guide.
