New UNESCO World Heritage sites
The United Nations' World Heritage Committee has been selecting new sites from a shortlist of 39 potential candidates at its annual meeting in Brazil. New or extended destinations on the list include sites in Sri Lanka, the United States of America, United Republic of Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Australia, India, Iran, Marshall Islands, Republic of Korea, Vietnam, China, Tajikistan, France, Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Austria, Romania, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and Kiribati.
