Following the footsteps of New York’s restaurant week, France will be starting, for the first time, a bargain week where restaurants will be offering menus at a fixed low price.
From June 7 to 13, in Paris and other cities in France, several chains, bistros and renowned chefs like Yannick Alléno, Paul Bocuse, Hélène Darroze, Pierre Gagnaire, Anne-Sophie Pic, Jacques and Laurent Pourcel, Joël Robuchon and Michel Troisgros — though only their “second label” restaurants, like Pierre Gagnaire’s Gaya, and not the three-star destinations, will suggest three-course menus for a maximum of €20.10 for lunch, and €35 for dinner, beverage not included.
The initiative of the event has been taken by Laurent Plantier, the director of Alain Ducasse Enterprises. It will allow a large number of people to discover the rich gastronomic panorama offered by 700 restaurants in France. Reservations will be highly recommended.
